One of the best ways to celebrate the great British summer is a day at the beach and Lincolnshire is a great place to go for just that. The long coastline boasts a few award-winning beaches, which you can enjoy relaxing on, building sandcastles on or taking a dip in the sea when on a themed staycation in Lincolnshire with your family.
Skegness Beach
Skegness’ award winning beach is long, wide and sandy providing ample room for the many families who want to set up a picnic by the sea. There are numerous activities such as crazy golf, sailing, donkey rides and a paddling pool if you don’t want to brave the cold North Sea, and plenty of local amenities such as cafes, restaurants, toilets and games and car parks within easy reach.
Mablethorpe Town Beach
Not far from our holiday park is Mablethorpe. This small coastal town has everything you need from shops and restaurants, and right by it is a large stretch of sandy beach, complete with fun activities for children such as an amusement arcade and crazy golf. There are also several beach chalets and huts to hire, so you can make a few trips to the beach without having to cart everything around multiple times on your holiday.
Sutton-on-Sea Beach
A small coastal village offering excellent sandy beaches, Sutton-on-Sea is the ideal spot for families and great for swimming too. It is often much quieter than neighbouring Mablethorpe, so if you are on holiday as a couple, this is a good beach just to relax on. There are also several gardens nearby for when you have finished sunbathing on the sand, along with some crazy golf too.
Cleethorpes Beach
The quintessential British seaside resort, Cleethorpes has miles of sandy beaches and a whole host of amenities and activities to do when you are bored of building sandcastles such as donkey rides and a boating lake. One the promenade at Cleethorpes, you can enjoy some award-winning gardens when you want a change from the beach.
Moggs Eye Beach
Also known as Huttoft Beach, Moggs Eye is just a few miles from Mablethorpe and is a fantastic spot for swimming and surfing as the beach has excellent water quality. Dogs are allowed on this beach, which is not the case for the other beaches mentioned in the list, which have no dogs in the summer or restricted access. This is the place to go if you want to escape the crowded beaches further along the coast, and there are some great walks nearby where you see the local nature and wildlife.
